Orasay Inn is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty at the north end of South Uist, centrally placed for exploring the southern part of the Outer Hebrides.
The islands, all linked by causeways, are (from north) Berneray, North Uist,
Benbecula, South Uist and Eriskay, with Barra a 35 minutes by ferry.

Owned and managed by Alan & Isobel Graham, Orasay is a small hotel and restaurant, which serves some of the finest food in the Hebrides. Superb fish and seafood comes fresh from boat to hotel kitchen, supplied by local fishermen. Fresh meat, poultry, game and vegetables are delivered from discerning, reliable producers and suppliers.

Isobel, is well known in Scotland as a 'TV chef' and has appeared on various regional TV programmes around Scotland. She was also part of the team that prepared the gala dinner at the opening of the Scottish Parliament.  She runs the kitchen at the Orasay Inn with the assistance of a excellent baker/sweet/sous chef.

The restaurant is ideally situated to take advantage of the landscape, with large windows revealing the panoramic view towards Loch Carnan and, on a clear day, the mountains of Skye. Adjoining the restaurant is a comfortable lounge, with bar, where guests can relax.

 The price group 4 bedrooms offer superior rooms, which have their own private balcony-deck - ideal for peaceful relaxation, or to view passing wildlife.  

Price group 3 rooms are also available - a bit less spacious, without the deck, and some with with side or rear views -  but it's an excellent way to enjoy the Orasay Inn's attractions on a tighter budget.

The bedrooms are well appointed with TV, hospitality tray, phone and ensuite facilities.  

Outside, the restaurant opens onto an attractive decked area, with access to the lawned garden. Sheltered from the prevailing wind direction, this area will often be a  pleasant sun-trap in summer. 

Around 80% of beef comes from our own herd of Highland Cattle and almost all lamb is locally produced. With quality ingredients and her own creative style of cooking, Isobel, who is also a 'Natural Cooking of Scotland' trainer, is able to offer the wide range of dishes on which her reputation has thrived.

Meals, all freshly prepared to order, can be chosen from our a la carte menu or "Catch of the Day" board. Our second chef is also a qualified baker and produces fresh bread, scones and a selection of mouth watering desserts to round off your meal experience.

Fine wines, from around the world, are available from our wine list.
Meals are served in our tastefully appointed dining room or weather permitting on the elevated decked area, both afford superb sea and mountain views.

All rooms are centrally heated, en suite, with tea/coffee, hairdryer TV and telephone. Deluxe rooms have patio doors to a private decked area, with outstanding views. We serve full Scottish or continental breakfast.

TARIFF

A 7.5% discount is available for reservations of five nights or more.

Special rates can be discussed for groups and regular or long term guests.

Low season – October to March. Substantial discounts on the above rates can be arranged, depending on availability.
