The Loch Indaal Hotel in Port Charlotte is one of Islay's most traditional hotels. It is a family run establishment, having been in the MacLellan family for over 100 years.

The hotel boasts an impressive collection of rare and unusual Islay whiskies which can be viewed from the public bar. In the pub there are roaring peat fires and local musicians regularly entertain the guests with traditional Scottish music, attracting a merry audience.

The hotel comprises 8 letting rooms and an attractive restaurant which offers excellent homemade meals using Islay produce. Children are actively welcomed to the hotel with a good value kid's menu and walled play area for their enjoyment.

The owners, Iain and Katie have four children of their own and make every effort to promote a fun, family atmosphere to enable you to get the most out of your holiday on Islay.

The Hotel

The hotel has 8 letting rooms, 2 of which are recently refurbished en suite double rooms away from the main hotel building, 3 double rooms and 2 twin bedded rooms.

The 2 ensuite rooms are situated away from the main hotel building in Joiner's Loft, converted last year from an old workshop to the very highest standard of hotel accommodation.

Both rooms 7 and 8 comprise of a comfortable double bed, colour TV, tea & coffee making facilities and an ensuite bathroom.

Joiner's Loft provides the perfect family hotel accommodation. Both rooms are very private, quiet and comfortable with guest controlled heating.
Joiner's Loft can be let as one for families at a reduced rate.

There is a guest lounge where there is a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

Child facilities are available upon request, cots etc.

Full Scottish breakfast is offered to all guests.

Meals can be served in rooms if required.

The Pub

The Lochindaal Hotel has a pub which is popular with visitors and locals alike. The roaring peat fires and traditional Scottish music create an atmosphere not to be missed by those looking for the 'real' Scotland.

The landlord, Iain MacLellan, keeps an impressive collection of rare and unusual whiskies in a collection started by his aunt in the 1930's.

The Restaurant  

The Restaurant is a comfortable, warm and friendly restaurant situated at the Lochindaal Hotel, Islay, offering good food which is excellent value for money.

The restaurant has easy chairs and sofa surrounding a real fire where you may enjoy an aperitif or after dinner coffee or brandy. There is a private bar and friendly waitress service.

There is a comprehensive wine list designed to suit every palate and a huge variety of Islay whiskies, some used in cooking.

We can cater for large parties as well as 'intimate' dining(!!).
Vegetarian dishes are always on the menu.

Children are actively welcomed at lunch times and early evenings and we can offer a well equipped outdoor play area, high chairs, beakers & cutlery. There is a children's menu or smaller portions of the adult menu can be provided.

The Restaurant is a no smoking area.
