LAGGAN ESTATE

The Laggan Estate is situated on the Hebridean island of Islay and is set amidst some of Scotland’s most spectacular and stunning scenery.

Approximately 2 miles south of Bowmore, it is possibly one of the best mixed sporting Estates on the island offering salmon fishing; sea trout, brown trout loch fishing; red and roe deer stalking along with game and wild fowl shooting.

With accommodation on the Estate being rated by the Tourist Board at 2 and 3 stars what better way to relax and enjoy the anonymity, away from the stresses and bustle of mainland living.

The Laggan Estate is privately owned and over the last few years has been considerably improved and enhanced and is now in a position to offer excellent holiday accommodation and sporting facilities.

The Laggan estate is situated on the west coast of the island, just 30 minutes by plane from Glasgow airport or two hours by ferry from Kennacraig, on the Kintyre peninsular.

The estate is located approx. 2 miles from Bowmore which is famous for its round church and with all essential services. Restaurants offer a variety of cuisine from local seafood to Indian and with seven working distilleries there is ample opportunity to taste some ‘uisge beatha’.

The Red Lodge

A modern architect designed single storey lodge, constructed in 2001.

The Lodge is situated on an elevated site overlooking the River Laggan in rural surroundings with panoramic views.

The Lodge provides spacious quality accommodation (for up to 10 guests) and comprises

Kitchen: with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge /freezer, microwave, tumble drier, etc

Large Open Plan Lounge and Dining Room: with open peat fires and patio doors to a roofed veranda. Television and DVD.
Bedrooms: Five bedrooms all with en suite facilities.

The Lodge is double glazed throughout and benefits from an off peak electricity heating system.. Peat for the fires is supplied at no extra charge.

Ghillie Brae

Built new by the estate owners in 2002, this modern cottage is situated approx 50 meters north of Laggan Cottage and is close to the sea.

Ghillie Brae has stunning views of the Laggan Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day you can see the Antrim and Donegal coastline.

Accommodation is for up to six guests and comprises of:-

LARGE KITCHEN, with dining area

LOUNGE with double settee can be used as a bedroom

BEDROOMS two twin rooms

BATHROOM with over the bath shower

Ghillie Brae is well equipped and has adequate parking and a natural fenced in garden

Laggan Cottage

This brick built cottage is situated close to Laggan farm and Ghillie Brae and is a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

The cottage has extensive west facing views of the Atlantic Ocean and beyond.

The cottage provides accommodation for six guests and comprises:

LIVING ROOM with open fire (peat is provided at no extra cost)

KITCHEN fridge/freezer, cooker, washing machine etc

BEDROOMS three in all, one with bunk beds

BATHROOM with over the bath shower

Laggan Cottage is a well equipped self catering cottage with adequate parking and a fenced natural garden
